I have problem running MNE on CentOS with Radion-HJD4550 videocard ( No direct rendering context, mne_opengl_test gives times around 20sec).
Does anybody use MNE or FreeSurfer with this card ?
(installation of vireodrivers for this card from the ATI is not straightforward ... I did not succeed so far. )
Besides, can somebody recommend me a videocard which 100% sure will work with MNE?

Hello Elena,
I'm sorry to hear about the trouble of getting the ATI card to work under
Linux. Because these have been a pain to get to work under Linux we have
been recommending NVidia cards for a long time. Without knowing anything
about your computer its difficult to suggest a particular model, but
virtually all contemporary models will do.
Did you try using the closed source driver from ATI for the card you
presently have ? The opensource ones that come with your distribution
might not work as expected.
