Hi, I’m Raghav, a GSoC 2025 aspirant eager to contribute to MNE-Python. I’m impressed with its EEG/MEG data analysis capabilities. As I’m new to the codebase, could you recommend some beginner-friendly issues and suggest the best way to learn the code and make meaningful contributions? I’m excited to learn from the community! Thanks.
Hi @Raghavisdev thanks for your interest! We haven’t been very diligent about labelling our issues as easy
or good-first-issue
or similar, so you may just need to read through a bunch of them until you find one that makes sense / that you think you know how to solve. Another great first contribution is improving the documentation, so if there was anything you encountered in the process of installing MNE-Python / setting up a dev environment / running through our usage tutorials, then please open an issue or PR to improve that part of the documentation. The tutorials are definitely the best way to learn how MNE-Python works, and a sensible approach is to work through them in order.
