Broken link in GSoC idea page and help with working on beginner issues.

Hi,
I was looking at the MNE Idea page for GSoC and noticed a broken link for the “installation instruction”. To address this issue, I have submitted a report on the MNE-Python GitHub page: Broken link in GSoC ideas · Issue #11494 · mne-tools/mne-python · GitHub.
Is it possible if I could work on this as my first issue to start contributing to MNE?

A little about me, I am Satish Mishra and I am sophomore in Information Technology who is absolutely in love with working with data analysis and processing etc. I am also a professional trained and practicing yoga teacher who has studied a lot about brain activity and am well read about neuroimaging however this is my first time working with MEG/EEG or MNE-python.

I’ve spent the past 3-4 days just going through the MNE tutorials given in documentation and videos what it is like to work with MNE and my interest in the same is getting deeper. I went through this issue DOC: Epoch loading shifts index · Issue #11373 · mne-tools/mne-python · GitHub and it still did not completely solve my understanding of this but I do understand certain bits of this problem with my current research and knowledge level.

so I would love to have some expert help on the topic. I am really passionate on learning this and I would love to continue this as a future project for me.

Hello,

The broken link was part of the wiki, and contrary to the code and website documentation, it can not be edited via a pull request, thus it does not really fit for a contribution.
However, the second issue is perfect for a first contribution. I can give you some guidelines on the issue if you want.

Mathieu

Hi Mathieu,

Thank you for your reply and yes I really do need guidelines on the issue and please keep in mind I am beginner so there a few terms I might not be familiar with so I also hope for your understanding in case I ask any silly questions.
