GSoC 2026 Intro | Deep Kaur | Aspiring Data Scientist | Interested in MNE-Python

Hi everyone!

My name is Deep Kaur, and I am a BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications) student from India. I am an aspiring Data Scientist with a strong interest in signal processing and data visualization, which is what drew me to MNE-Python.

I have experience working with Python and NumPy for data analysis. One of my recent projects involved a Global Temperature Trend Analysis using Kaggle datasets, where I focused on data cleaning and trend visualization. I also have a background in C++ and Data Structures & Algorithms, and I am currently expanding my skills in technical documentation.

I’ve been exploring the MNE-Python documentation and am particularly interested in projects related to Documentation Interactivity. I believe my background in Python and my experience with NumPy projects like my Climate Data Analyzer will allow me to contribute effectively to making MNE’s tools more interactive and user-friendly. I have successfully set up the development environment locally and am currently looking for a “good first issue” to contribute my first PR.

I would love to connect with the mentors for this project to discuss how I can best align my skills with the organization’s goals for 2026.

Looking forward to a productive summer!

Best regards,

Deep Kaur
