operating system: e.g. macOS Ventura 13.2.1
I am attempting to download MNE via the MNE-Python installer for Apple Silicon as my computer has an Apple M1 chip. However, when I attempt to run the installer, it always tries to download the packages before the installation fails and I get an error message from the installer package saying the software was unable to be installed and to contact the software manufacturer. I am using a university laptop so I was curious if there were certain security permissions, etc. I had to disable that might be keeping the installer from running correctly?

can you post the full error message / traceback? That will help us figure out exactly what is causing the failure.

@inichoso You can bring up a detailed log by clicking on Window / Installer Log or by pressing ā-L. You can then click on Save to save the log to disk and share it with us for further investigation.

Sorry, this probably was in response to another message of mine, which I have meanwhile deleted. I assumed you were not using the M1 installer, but upon closer inspection I figured that this was not the case.

I am using the installer for Apple Silicon which you need for computers with the M1 chip I believe

I can see youāre using 1.3.0, can you try the newer 1.3.1 installer and see if it has the same issue?

Unfortunately I encountered the same issue. It occurs to me that I have an old version of anaconda downloaded onto my computer (not by me) via home-brew. Could this be causing issues? And if so, how would I delete it? Thank you!

Okay I got the error message but the MNE directory is still in my applications folder and seems to run fine.

could you please open a terminal and run
ls /Users/in65/Applications/

Hi all, I got the same error message with this guy on my Ventura 13.4.1 macOS (M1 Pro) when installing MNE. Do you know how to fix it? THX!

Hello @Caoyq , you can bring up a detailed log by clicking on Window / Installer Log or by pressing ā-L . You can then click on Save to save the log to disk and share it with us for further investigation.

Hello, I am having the same problem - I use the installer, but it tells me that the installation failed (same message as the screenshot earlier in this thread).
When I open a terminal and run
ls /Users/in65/Applications/
I get the response āNo such file or directoryā

Any idea what I can do ? Unlike inichoso, I do not have the MNE directory in my folder and it does not ārun fineā.
Iām not very experienced with python/coding so this is all very foreign/confusing to me.
