Create freesurfer .annot file from gifti file

Hi all

I’m trying to create a Freesurfer .annot file from a gifti (label.gii) file using

mris_convert --annot my_labels.label.gii my_fsavarage.surf.gii my_annot.annot

but I get the error

** failed to open GIFTI XML file 'my_fsaverage.surf.gii'
mrisReadGIFTIdanum: gifti_read_image() returned NULL

Is there a way to solve this or alternatively create .annot files in another way?

Interesting question! I think you might be looking for the freesurfer mailing list though since this doesn’t involve mne.
