Are there any tools for dealing with overlapping events -i.e. a way to decouple the signals belonging to two or move overlapping events. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Do you mean that in your experiment, there are two events that evoke brain activity occurring in rapid succession such that the evoked brain responses overlap? In this case, isolating them depends on what kind of activity we are dealing with.
Signals generated in different parts of the brain: Source estimation / Dipole fitting
Signals with notably different “shape”: Independent Component Analysis (ICA)
Signals generated at different frequencies: bandpass filtering
