I have the same problem that was discussed in this message:

When running mne_surf2bem to create the head surface to check my
coregistration, I am getting the error:
Warning: Too many neighbors for vertex X for quite a large number of
vertices.
I have tried fixing the surface with freeview, but I don't seem to be able
to find all problematic points.
Is there a way to directly localize the vertex number in freeview?
