.mat files for head and source model: how to load in mne python?

Hello!

I have a head model (.mat file) and a source model (individual MNI-aligned grid, also .mat file)

I believe that these are files that meant to be read via FieldTrip. Is it possible to load them and to use the in MNE python? (I would like to do the source reconstruction in MNE python)
