Installation on Mac

  • MNE version: MNE-Python-1.6.1_0-macOS_Intel
  • operating system: macOS 10.13.5

My Mac is older so won’t allow me to update beyond the 10.13.5, and I installed the MNE-Python-1.6.1_0-macOS_Intel, but it won’t work (unsurprisingly I guess). The Spyder won’t open, and when I open Prompt, it causes an error and numerous Terminal windows open then the app crashes.

Can I download an older version of MNE-Python that’s compatible with my software?

Hello, you cannot use our stand-alone installers, but you may have more luck when following the instructions for a manual installation. First install Python, e.g. via Anaconda, Miniconda, Miniforge, or pyenv, and then follow these instructions.
