convert binary file to edf

Hi,
Does anyone have any tips for converting a polysomnography binary file to .edf format?

Can you be a bit more specific? What kind of binary format do you have?

Hi! Thanks for your attention.
Would you have any contact details so I can send you the file to make it easier to understand?

I’m not sure that sharing the file would help. Can you tell us everything you know about the file? Which software generated it? Is it associated with a particular recording device? This would provide first hints where to start looking…

The software that produces the file is very specific, called icelera and there is no specification of this format within the software. I was only able to extract some information from it:
Separator: Columns are separated by a comma (,).
Encoding: The file encoding is ISO-8859-1.
Line Break: Lines are separated by line breaks (\n).
Special Characters: The file contains several special characters such as “”, “ÿ”, “þ”, “÷”, which must be removed during processing.
Whitespace: Some lines may have whitespace at the beginning or end, and these spaces should be removed.

I suggest that you contact Icelera directly and ask them for support, maybe they will share their file format specifications. Otherwise, I’m afraid it will be very difficult to reverse-engineer their binary format.
