statistics for within-subject paired design

  • MNE version: 1.1.1
  • operating system: Windows 10-10.0.19045-SP0
  • python: 3.10.7 (venv)

Dear all,

I am working on statistics (source space) and wondering whether I have chosen appropriate method for my study design:

  • visual memory task, where subjects are presented with images in encoding and say whether they remember them in retrieval
  • I analyze activity from encoding
  • within-subject design: one group of subjects, where we tested memory performance
  • paired design: I compare activity for HITS (correctly remembered items) vs MISSES (forgotten items)

Now I used the pipeline from the Permutation t-test on source data with spatio-temporal clustering tutorial.

As I understand, it is suitable for within-subject design. But does it work for paired design?

Best,
Katya
