plot MNI SEEG with fsaverage

Dear all,

I come across a public SEEG data which contains MNI coordinations of the electctrodes, and I am planning to plot SEEG (in MNI space) along with a brain model. I have some problem here.

First, there are many subjects, I don’t know if the locations refers to the standard brain or the individual brain. I think it is the normalized and projected into MNI space for group analysis. If so, I can savely plot all contacts into a template brain in MNI. But which template? The owner of the dataset doesn’t mention this.

Second, I want to plot these electrodes along with a brain. Should I use a standard brain in MNI space, such as MNI152, or should I plot them with fsaverage?

What I want to achieve is to visualize the location of the electrode inside of the brain.

Any suggestion is appreciated, thanks.

to the best of my knowledge, fsaverage is compatible with MNI, as in, locations in MNI coordinates will be (approximately) correct on the fsaverage brain as well.

Thanks for your answer. It appears so, and I noticed that everyone just plot the fsaverage with MNI. I am not 100% sure though.

But what I know is fsaverage is definitely not in MNI space. For now, I will just let it go. I have spend many time on this and still can’t find a better answer.

Glade if someboday can get to the bottom of this question.
