Mne_analysis Digest, Vol 123, Issue 10

Hello Mne-Analysis-Group,

I'm currently using ubuntu 14.04, and am trying to install
mne-python from the ubuntu terminal, invoking commands from the following
link: https://www.martinos.org/mne/stable/install_mne_python.html.
But, it's not getting done. Here, for you to debug, I'm giving a flowchart,
and also attaching a screenshot of the error messages being issued against
the commands I typed.

A step-by-step flowchart of how I'm trying to install mne from ubuntu
terminal:

step-1: open the terminal.
step-2: go to the directory where anaconda environment is installed
invoking ' cd anaconda3' command\. step\-3: Invoking the following command from terminal:             conda install scipy matplotlib scikit-learn mayavi jupyter
spyder
step-4: Invoking the second command from ubuntu terminal:
           $pip install PySurfer mne

But, everytime, Im writing these commands, error messages are flashing up
on screen. Please, help.
The screenshot of error messages are attached herewith.

Thanking you in anticipation and expecting a reply at my earliest,

Regards,

Shirsho Basu.

Hello Mne-analysis-Group,

I'm currently using ubuntu 14.04, and have already installed conda
environment and pip. And, the version of Python installed in ubuntu is
3.6.3. But, now, I'm not being able to figure out how to install mne-python
in ubuntu 14.04. I've tried the commands, from ubuntu terminal, written in
the following link many times.

https://www.martinos.org/mne/stable/install_mne_python.html

But, it's not getting done. Can anyone please tell me what is falling
short? Also, tell me how to go to root Anaconda environment from ubuntu
terminal. Any lead in this regard will be highly appreciated.

Thanking you in anticipation and expecting a reply asap.

Best regards,

Shirsho Basu.

hi Shirsho,

it's really hard to tell if we don't know what you see and what you typed.

Once you have conda installed it does not matter what linux version you
have.

Also, feel free to try our latest iteration of the Anaconda environment,
currently documented here until we release 0.16:

hi,

can you check that you can install any package with conda and pip?

your error does not seem to be specific to mne.

we have also now more recent install instructions :
