Would it work if you just picked the source with maximum power? (computed for a sliding window across time)

Ok thank you. If one wanted to retrieve data from only one source (an epileptic source) how should you do? That is not only for epochs, but for continuous data?

pick_ori=?max_power? does not find the source point with maximum power, but for each source point, the *orientation* of maximum power. See this tutorial for more information about what I mean with the ?orientation? of a source:

The LCMV beamformer, applied to continuous data, will for each time point create a full source estimate for all source points along the cortex. So yes, you?ll be able to see the location of maximum power ?move? along the cortex.
