De-identifying MRI for MEG data sharing

Hi all,

Does anyone know of a automated tool that removes identifiable facial
features from the MRI like mri_deface (
http://www.na-mic.org/Wiki/index.php/Mbirn:_Defacer_for_structural_MRI),
while preserving the area around the nasion?

Thanks,

Jon

Jon,

If you find one, please share the information.
Thanks,

it's built into freesurfer:
http://surfer.nmr.mgh.harvard.edu/fswiki/mri_deface

There is an mri_deface in Freesurfer, but there doesn't seem to be a way to
preserve the nasion, short of manually editing the output mask.

ooops sorry, I should have read more closely. What is the specific use
you want for this?

I have dealt with a case recently where I wanted something like this.
To get around that problem. I simply saved trans.fif files fit
properly with the full dense scalp. Then analyzers don't need the
nasion in the MR at all. If they want to tweak it they can, but that
is up to them.
