Hi Group,

This maybe a trivial question but I would like to confirm it.

Say the raw consist channel of type eeg, eog, and ecg.
Do we need exclude ( pick\_types ) the eog and ecg channel before prior to
ica.fit
\<[https://mne.tools/stable/generated/mne.preprocessing.ICA.html#mne.preprocessing.ICA.fit](https://mne.tools/stable/generated/mne.preprocessing.ICA.html#mne.preprocessing.ICA.fit)\>
()

Thanks for the clarification

hi,

it's a good question.

You can definitely keep them in. What is most common is to keep EOG though
It can help find the blink artifacts.

Alex
