# Reading annot.fif file

External Email - Use Caution

Dear Eric, Alex,

I am unable to read an annot.fif that was created using mne\_browse\_raw -  
mne-C. I see that Jeff Stout had brought this up earlier last year.

The TL;DR is that mne MNE-C `-annot.fif` file is not like the one we make  
in MNE-Python, and if you plan to use MNE-Python for analysis you are  
probably better off creating your annotations there.
