# pial BEM surface

Dear All,
Is there a way to create a closed BEM mesh in MNE from the pial surface
generated by merging the lh and rh pial surfaces in freesurfer?

hi Octavian,

unless you want to model CSF with a 4-layers BEM (with MNE does not handle)
that surface is the inner-skull provided by MNE already when you run
mne\_watershed\_bem
or mne\_flash\_bem
> generated by merging the lh and rh pial surfaces in freesurfer?
This is unlikely to give you a clean BEM surface but you
can try to ask on the freesurfer mailing list.
