# Need Help With .EAS File

Hello! I am struggling to work with a .eas file (from EEG recordings). I have been scouring the internet in order to find some way to use MNE with this file type or how to convert the .eas file, but I have not been able to find anything that works?

- MNE-Python version: 3.9.2
- operating system: Mac Os 10.15.4

It seems like these file types are recordings from [Cadwell](https://www.cadwell.com/easy-3-eeg/) amplifiers. I have never heard of this format before, and the format doesn’t seem to be supported by any of the large open source EEG packages. In [this discussion thread](https://www.researchgate.net/post/I-have-to-convert-a-lot-of-eas-files-generated-by-cadwell-EEG-machine-to-edf-files-or-even-mat-file-Kindly-suggest-an-efficient-method), people recommend to use the Nihon Kohden software to convert .eas to .edf (or some other format that MNE-Python supports).

I tried using the Nihon Kohden software, but every time I tried to load in an .eas file it tells me that it is not supported?

I’d try to contact the amp manufacturer then.
