# MNE setup

Hello,
I am a new user and am trying to set up and configure MNE. The manual
(section C.2.2) says to run \/mne/bin/admin/mne\_setup\_mne , but my
installation doesn't seem to have this directory or file. (The /bin folder
doesn't have any subfolders, even hidden, and I can't find any
mne\_setup\_mne file, nor the files mne\_setup\_analysis\_sh and
mne\_setup\_analysis\_csh described in section 2.5.) Has the installation
changed, or am I looking in the wrong place?

Hi Stephen,
yes you're apparently looking in the wrong place.
Where did you install MNE? it's unlikely to be in /bin

Which version of the manual and software are you using. The 2.7.X manuals contain the correct setup procedures.

Thanks Dan, Alexandre, and Matti for your responses. It turns out I was
indeed using the wrong manual; once I checked the right one the problem was
solved.
