# MNE issue opening average/raw data files

Hi all, I'm working on a 64-bit Ubuntu 11.10 system. Seems that MNE\_analyze
can't open neither average nor raw files (sss-tsss). With raw data it gives
me an error related to Tag Directory, with average files it simply "says"
that the file doesn't load properly. Could it be a problem related to
ubuntu in general/this specific version, or is it an mne bug?

can you load raw recordings with no preprocessing?
can you do :
mne\_browse\_raw --raw my\_file\_raw.fif
?
